United Nude

United Nude shoes and sandals are inspired by the Barcelona chair design of famous architect Mies van der Rohe and based on the infinity loop of the Mobius strip. Founded by Dutch architect Rem D Koolhaas and seventh generation English shoemaker Galahad Clark, United Nude operates as a design company, in partnership with manufacturers in Shanghai and Taiwan. Rem D Koolhaas thought traditional architecture is too cold, too big and too old. He wanted to design something very intimate to women - contemporary shoes. As for the name – United Nude represents the philosophy of the brand. “The products evolve in projects from international teams (=United) in an open way with direct recognition (=Nude)”. In particular, 'nude' also means 'invisible heel shoes'. Many of their products are not cheap though, ranging from $330 to $350 each. Source: http://www.thread.co.nz/article/1028
